Hello Reader,
September always feels new and that is magnified by the “new norm” this year. As we return to school, the office, the rink and all other familiar yet now strange fall activities we are feeling the optimism of a “new year”.
For business leaders, how do you approach the fall with optimism?
Stay tuned for our upcoming thought leadership that touches on this.
We are producing a series “Covid’s impact as the 6th commercial lending’s Classic 5 Cs”. We are exploring the impact of the crisis on:

Let’s discuss these topics! We are out of the house & happy to meet safely within regulations and in support of local. And if you’d rather we have video chats or the old fashioned phone we are ready to go with that too!
Based on a market need we have launched a new Finance Leader service. CFOs need to focus on strategy & its executive team responsibilities. In these unprecedented times, mid-market CFOs can’t necessarily justify the spending in finance & accounting to hiring an FTE. We are providing a scalable and fractional opportunity. CFOs that are CFAs or MBAs & want a trusted team lead to take care of accounting will find this a valuable opportunity. CPAs that find themselves pulled into the weeds and wearing the Controller hat more than the CFO one will also benefit.
We found a leader and we are getting serious! We’ve had great success in placing CPAs in temporary contract work. We’ve also connected CPAs with FTE roles. We are going to invest in cultivating connections and amplifying opportunities. Recruiting Services is now led by Ryan Puffalt and he is excited to get to know our CPA network and build it. He will be focused on client experience and leveraging our values and model within this service line.

Our team of bookkeepers, junior accountants and senior accountants is growing. The opportunity to fill the “must” of bookkeeping with our service line that is client experience focused and best leveraged with a Financial Leadership package is proving to be a great fit for small business.
Our core strategic services have been busy too. We saw a drop in consulting projects during the pandemic and we know it’s a long journey with tight budgets ahead. We are seeing the adoption of digital and pivots increasing this demand and we are excited to assist business leaders with their projects in finance and accounting. We work with all size businesses in our Consulting Services.
Our Fractional CFO & Financial Leadership clients have seen a lot of us through these unprecedented times. Government programs have been and continue to be navigated. Forecasts have been updated (over & over) for cashflow and banks and runways and resilience. There were more unknowns than known this spring & summer. The road ahead is still challenging for many industries and businesses. The priorities have been clear though and that helps. We stepped up for our clients, new and old, as well as our Helping Hands clients to help strategize new pivots, cash management, & going concern. We focused on ensuring that the organizations we support continue to be employers and contributing members of their communities. That has been the common denominator for every business we serve. During this crisis every CEO we support and the executive team we are a member of wanted to survive and be there as an employer and community member.
Our epic team of Finance Leaders & CFOs has worked hard through these crazy circumstances. They’ve supported their clients and have seen their impact. We are grateful for every one of them. There are lots left to do as we move into the “new year” but we’ve got a great head start.
Coming soon we will be launching our new website and our brand refresh. We can’t wait to hear what you think! We are obsessed with Storybrand and we worked with the only certified Storybrand consultant in our community to help us clarify our message. We have been working hard on learning the methodology as well. It is a great alignment for us as growth consultants and we would love to talk about it with you too.

Good Afternoon Reader! Happy Summer! We are going to have some fun and use these newsletters this summer. Summer is all about vacations; school's out, patios are open and of course, SPORTS! Sports are also a big part of developing professionals. We see that in our childhoods and with our kids, right? They continue to be a great way to be social and exercise once we are professionals. A break with friends - that is healthy right? Finally, volunteering is one of the absolute best ways we live...
